Miss Polly Had a Dolly

The melody is a bit difficult for little ones, so we like to chant this one. You can use dolls or stuffed animals as props. Or snuggle your child and pretend that they are the sick dolly.

I posted a video of the musical version last year.

Miss Polly Had a Dolly is part of the Playtime Music with Friends collection.

Miss polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick
(hands on either side of face, bob head back and forth)
So she called for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick.
(fingers in phone shape, to side of face)
The doctor came with her bag and her hat,
(hold a pretend bag in one hand and tap your head with the other)
and she knocked on the door with a ra-ta-tat-tat.
(hand in fist, knock on pretend door)
She looked at the dolly and she shook her head and she said,
(shake head)
“Miss Polly put her straight to bed.”
(wag outstretched finger)
She wrote on a paper for a pill, pill, pill,
(pretend one hand is a paper and write with the other)
“I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill.”
(wag outstretched finger)

I like the Wiggles version of Miss Polly Had a Dolly
